The design of the home is a reinvention of the A-frame concept, a home which you might see in the mountains out west. We blended classical “Tuscan” columns, strong roof forms, and a prominent modern two-story glass bow with a view of nature. The unique plan is in the form of a “Y” with each leg jutting out, like spokes on a wheel, while surgically avoiding three-hundred-year-old oak trees. The atypical garage is tucked in on the lower level with the majority of the house nestled on top of a moraine.
Finally, in the tradition of Fredrick Law Olmsted, the homeowner fashioned an amazing natural garden, and every spring it blasts an arrangement of wonderful textures and colors.
