One of the oldest “farmhouse” on the North shore was reinvented and made grander to accommodate a growing family for contemporary living.  A new sweeping wrap around porch unifies the existing home with a side entry addition.  The heavy “Stick” style brackets and details were replaced and softened with shingle siding and unpretentious fenestration.  The one story kitchen and family room addition with upper balcony provides a buffer from the previous blunt massing of the existing home. Finally, a charming garage framed with the rear addition encapsulate a private oasis for the family wanting to shut out the noise of the world.
