The Foursquare was a popular American house in the beginning of the late 19th century.  This style was marked by it rectangular footprint, streamlined detailing, center roof dormer, and a large dominant front porch. Our adaptation of the Foursquare was a perfect solution for a narrow infill property on the Northshore.  The two story bay vanishes into the strong horizontal banding demarcated by the foundation of the wider horizontal siding and the softness of the upper shingles all in the same color palette. The curved roof extends to form a generous overhang punctuated by a series of painted corbels.  And yes, no Foursquare would be complete with out the front porch, with ours is a mere suggestion based on the realities of modern zoning.
